In Photoshop, you can use the keyboard or mouse and select tools and features to touch up an image. The shapes, tools, and features in Adobe Photoshop are organized into “layers” allowing you to easily customize the exact look and feel of the image. Select the layer you want to work on and then use the tools to manipulate the shape of that layer. Each tool is available depending on whether the layer is visible or hidden behind other layers. To hide or show the layers, click the eye icon next to the filter panel.
You can easily navigate and find tools in Photoshop by using the menus, shortcut keys, the search function, or by using the filter panel. You can also use the browser to select a tool and download it to your computer. The following screenshot demonstrates the browser on a Mac machine.
The browser is very easy to use, and having a browser in Photoshop allows you to select tools and features easily. When using the browser, you can save the tools you use regularly to make them faster to access. To add the filter panel to your browser, use the menu button, Edit, Preferences.
The Photoshop keyboard shortcuts are available in the tool bar above the image or in the menu bar (right side of image window). When editing with Photoshop, press Alt or Option (Mac) or Ctrl or Cmd (Windows) to activate the shortcut. You can also show or hide the keyboard shortcuts by clicking the small icons between the keys and the top of the keyboard shortcuts menu to view or hide them. In the Preferences menu, you can set the keyboard shortcuts and view the keyboard shortcuts maintained by the application.
